American company Singer Vehicle Design has officially launched small-series production of the DLS Turbo restomod built on the Porsche 911 (964) and has unveiled the first customer car, named Sorcerer.

The Singer DLS Turbo made its debut back in the summer of 2023 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. However, with Singer’s order book perpetually full and each build requiring an extensive, labor-intensive process, the company has only now revealed the first completed customer example. The car, dubbed Sorcerer, is finished in a gradient shade called Fantasia Blue, fading from a lighter tone at the front to a darker hue at the rear.

At the request of Singer’s press office, we’ll note the model’s full official name: Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer — DLS Turbo. For media purposes, that’s a bit of a mouthful, so like most outlets, we’ll refer to it simply as the Singer DLS Turbo. The formal name highlights the car’s foundation: an original Porsche 911 from the 964 generation, produced between 1989 and 1994.

Built from the Bones Up

From the donor car, Singer retains only the body shell and the engine’s cylinder block. Everything else on the DLS Turbo is entirely new. The body shell is painstakingly restored and reinforced, while nearly all exterior panels are made from carbon fiber.

The owner of Sorcerer selected the aggressive, track-focused aerodynamic package. Singer also offers a more restrained road-oriented aero kit. In theory, customers can purchase both configurations and swap them in their own garage. Both designs draw inspiration from the legendary 1970s endurance racing icon, the Porsche 934/5, though the track package more faithfully captures the historic racer’s appearance.

Interior: Classic Spirit, Modern Craftsmanship

The Singer DLS Turbo Sorcerer features a strict two-seat layout. Behind the lightweight bucket seats for the driver and passenger sit a cross-braced tubular reinforcement bar and a rear luggage shelf.

The primary upholstery material is natural leather in Pebble Grey, with matching Alcantara seat inserts and champagne-colored trim accents. The newly developed dashboard meticulously recreates the aesthetic of classic Porsche 911 interiors but is constructed from lightweight modern materials. The Sorcerer retains an analog gauge cluster, although Singer offers a race-style digital display as an alternative.

700+ Horsepower, 9,000+ RPM

The air-cooled flat-six engine’s cylinder block is extensively modified, with displacement increased to 3.8 liters (232 cubic inches). It features new water-cooled four-valve cylinder heads and an upgraded cooling system with an electric fan.

A newly developed exhaust system made of Inconel and titanium exits through side outlets integrated into the rear fenders, allowing for a more expansive rear diffuser design. Thanks to twin variable-geometry turbochargers, the engine produces more than 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. Maximum engine speed exceeds 9,000 rpm.

All power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Performance figures have not yet been disclosed.

The suspension is entirely new and engineered with racing principles in mind, featuring double wishbones up front. Lightweight forged magnesium center-lock wheels—19 inches in front and 20 inches in the rear—are finished in champagne. Behind their intricate spokes sit powerful carbon-ceramic brakes with monoblock calipers.

Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2.

Singer Vehicle Design does not disclose pricing for its restorations. What is clear is that the cost is exceptionally high and heavily dependent on each client’s individual specifications.
