Toyota's refreshed Alphard lineup gains new plug-in hybrid and hybrid trims, along with more features and comfort upgrades.
Toyota officially launched the updated Alphard minivan on June 3, placing a strong emphasis on its electrified lineup. The refreshed range introduces new PHEV and HEV variants while enhancing existing trims with additional equipment and improved ride comfort.
One of the biggest additions is a new plug-in hybrid version of the Alphard Z. Standard equipment includes 19-inch wheels wrapped in 225/55R19 tires, along with silver-finished alloy rims. Inside, the minivan features a three-spoke steering wheel trimmed in genuine leather with wood-look accents.
Second-row passengers are treated to executive-style power seats with reclining backrests, power ottomans, heating, and ventilation functions. The standard equipment list also includes dual power-operated sunroofs with sunshades and pinch protection, a 14-inch HD infotainment system with connected navigation support and 10 speakers, an Ultrasuede headliner, wireless smartphone charging, and Toyota's Smooth Stop function.
Toyota also highlights a body-motion control system designed to reduce forward pitching during braking, improving passenger comfort. The charging port supports both standard and fast charging, while vehicle-to-home (V2H) power supply capability is included as well.
For buyers interested in the hybrid model, Toyota has introduced a new HEV G trim level with an expanded list of features. It comes equipped with triple-element LED headlights featuring automatic leveling, LED daytime running lights, and LED front fog lamps.
The driver's seat offers eight-way power adjustment, while the front passenger seat receives four-way power controls. Seven-passenger models feature second-row captain's chairs designed for enhanced comfort, while eight-passenger versions use a 60/40 split-folding bench seat. Both configurations combine fabric and synthetic leather upholstery.
Like the PHEV Z, the HEV G receives Toyota's 14-inch HD multimedia system with connected navigation and a 10-speaker audio setup. Additional technology includes a panoramic surround-view monitor with a transparent-floor view and a parking-assistance system capable of detecting front and rear obstacles, approaching vehicles, and pedestrians.
A new Neutral Black exterior paint color is now available across the entire Alphard lineup. Meanwhile, the range-topping Executive Lounge trim receives bronze-finished interior accents throughout the cabin.
Toyota has also upgraded the wheel options. A set of 18-inch Hyper Chrome Metallic alloy wheels fitted with 225/60R18 tires is now standard on the gasoline-powered and hybrid Z grades, while the package is available as a factory option on the HEV G.
Finally, every version of the updated Alphard now comes equipped with frequency-sensitive shock absorbers designed to deliver a smoother and more refined ride, further enhancing the luxury minivan's comfort-focused character.
