A young man bought what he believed was the fastest motorcycle in the world: the Yamaondason 2000 SP 8.2. He paid more than $30,000 for it, and on the very first day, he decided to see what his new machine could do.

As he stopped at a traffic light on the outskirts of town, an old man on a scooter pulled up beside him. He stared at the young man's shiny, bright-red, freshly polished motorcycle.

“What kind of scooter is that?” the old man asked.

“This is a Yamaondason 2000 SP 8.2,” the young rider replied proudly. “It cost me $32,150.99.”

“That’s a whole lot of money,” the old man said. “Why is it so expensive?”

“Because it can reach 200 mph!” the young man exclaimed.

“Mind if I take a closer look?”

“Go right ahead.”

The old man leaned in and carefully inspected the impressive machine.

Then the light turned green.

Eager to show off his new ride, the young man twisted the throttle and took off. Within 30 seconds, his speedometer was reading 199 mph.

Suddenly, he spotted a tiny dot in his rearview mirror. It seemed to be getting closer.

The rider eased off the throttle a little so he could get a better look.

Then, without warning…

BRRRRRRROOOOM!

Something shot past him at an even greater speed.

A moment later, the dot appeared again, this time approaching from the opposite direction.

BRRRRRRROOOOM!

It zipped past him once more.

Could it really be the old man on that little scooter?

The young rider couldn't believe his eyes. He glanced in the mirror again and saw the little dot closing in.

BRRRRRRROOOOM!

CRAAAASH!

The scooter slammed into the rear of his brand-new, gleaming Yamaondason 2000 SP 8.2, smashing the back end of the machine he had been so proud of.

The young man jumped off his bike and rushed over to the old man, who was lying on the road beside his wrecked scooter.

“Are you hurt? Can I help you?” he asked anxiously.

The old man groaned and looked up at him.

“Yes, please,” he said. “Would you mind unhooking my suspenders from your rearview mirror?” :-)
