Owners of Toyota Hilux pickups, especially in Asia, strive to embellish their cars with various accessories or even tune them to make them more beautiful and productive. However, the Thai firm 'Icon Cars' took a slightly different path.

The Toyota Tundra pickup, addressed to the US market, has never been sold in Thailand, but for those who always dreamed of such a car, a custom option is already prepared.

The tuners prepared a modification package for the local Hilux pickup, which radically changes the design of this model, transforming it into a visual copy of the Tundra.

The only thing that doesn't change in the appearance of the Hilux when transforming into a much larger and more expensive overseas pickup is its sides. In other respects, the car's design undergoes modernization, and in a radical way.

The utilitarian receives a newly designed front end, complemented by a massive grille. And at the back, it acquires a sculptural tailgate and modern LED lighting.

Identifying that the vehicle on the road is a Hilux and not a Tundra will only be possible from a side profile view the more compact model is evident not only by its smaller size but also by its disproportionately flared fenders.

Modernization of the Hilux isn't restricted to the body. 'Icon Cars' offers buyers modification kits for their pickups that increase ground clearance and off-road capabilities.

The Thai tuners refuse to make changes to the vehicle's aggregate side, so Hilux, reworked to resemble a Tundra, can only feature the stock 2.8-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel under the hood.

The cost of transforming a Hilux into a Tundra is 350,000 local baht or almost $11,000. This amount does not include large wheel discs and suspension modifications.

As for the pickup itself, the price for Hilux in Thailand ranges from 584,000 to 1,509,000 baht, equivalent to $17,800 to $45,000.
