The fresh generation of the Hyundai Palisade is already available to buyers in various countries. Following a recent update, the model received a hybrid modification, which is anticipated to appear with the platform-sharing Kia Telluride as well.

Such a conclusion can be drawn based on the publication from the TopElectricSUV portal, where the first renders appeared, showing how the nearly five-meter SUV from Kia might change.

Judging by the visualizations, the exterior of the future Telluride will become sharper and more masculine in shape. Soft contours will give way to angular shapes. In particular, the car will be equipped with a raised hood, a massive radiator grille, and unique lighting with an unusual light pattern inside.

The updated image will be complemented by redesigned bumpers with chrome elements, a changed glazing shape, and hidden door handles—the latter of which, incidentally, the Palisade never adopted despite numerous forecasts.

According to information from South Korea, Kia is considering not just V6 and hybrid power units already used on the Palisade for the new Telluride, but also an innovative EREV system. This installation is still in development, with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine at its core, capable of operating in a hybrid mode where the ICE acts solely as a generator to recharge the batteries, not driving the wheels directly.

Unlike traditional hybrids, EREV technology uses larger battery capacities and more powerful electric motors. This approach allows the vehicle to cover up to 1000 kilometers without needing refueling.

The debut of the updated Kia Telluride is expected by the end of this year.
