The name «Lobo», which translates to «wolf» in Spanish, was first used for the Bronco concept in 1981, and since 1997 it has been applied to the F-150 in the Mexican market. Now, this emblem returns in a new format.
The F-150 Lobo is not a separate trim level but an optional package for the STX version. The vehicle is only available in the SuperCrew configuration (four-door cab) and is equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. The power remains the same: 400 hp and 556 Nm of torque. If more power is desired, the lineup includes a 450 hp EcoBoost V6 or a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 from the Raptor R producing 720 hp.
As a successor to the iconic SVT Lightning, the F-150 Lobo features all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case and modes 2H, 4A, 4H, and 4L. The payload capacity is up to 658 kg, and the maximum towing capacity is 3583 kg!
The Lobo emphasizes a stylish visual package that gives the F-150 a more aggressive street appearance. It includes an aerodynamic kit with ten elements, black decorative inserts, a new hood, an original grille, and a two-level LED strip. The rear lights are also updated, and discreet Lobo logos are added.
The pickup features exclusive 22-inch gloss black wheels, and its rear is lowered by 5 centimeters for a sportier stance. The look is completed by visible dual exhaust pipes — a feature unavailable in the Maverick Lobo. Besides traditional black, color options include Atlas Blue, Rapid Red, Carbonized Gray, and Oxford White.
The price of the F-150 Lobo in the U.S. is approximately $4695 more than the regular STX version.
Despite the current generation of the F-150 being around five years old, it will remain on the market for a long time. According to Auto30, the release of the next generation is postponed until at least mid-2028.
Thus, the Lobo might become one of the final highlights of the fourteenth iteration of the popular pickup.
