The novelty, officially positioned as a premium sedan, debuted at the International Automobile Industry and Supply Chain Exhibition in Hong Kong.

Hongqi Guoli has dimensions of 5980x2090x1710 mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 3710 mm, thus in size the car can be compared to the long-wheelbase Rolls-Royce Phantom. Under the hood of this model is a 4.0-liter V8 engine with 388 hp and 530 Nm of torque, coupled with a classic 8-speed automatic transmission.

Besides Guoli, in Hong Kong the Hongqi brand also showcased its classic models CA770 and CA72, including the right-hand drive CA770 — these are truly «legendary» vehicles that were once used by state officials. The Hongqi exhibition also included a futuristic flying car concept — Hongqi TianNian NO.1.

Representatives of the premium Chinese brand stated that in the next 5 years, the company intends to release over 20 new models, including electric cars, as well as flagships of the Golden Sunflower series. This is part of the effort to bolster the brand's position in key international markets.
