The British-Chinese brand MG announced the start of pre-orders for the updated MG4 2026 electric car from August 5 on the Chinese market. According to Autohome, serial deliveries will start in September. The compact hatchback will feature a new multimedia system co-developed with OPPO and two battery options to choose from. This is the first model in MG's strategy to fully transition to electric vehicles — over the next two years, the brand plans to release 13 new «green» models.

The appearance has retained its sporty character: shortened overhangs, 17-inch wheels, and arrow-shaped lights. Dimensions remain unchanged — 4.4 m in length with an impressive class-leading wheelbase of 2.75 m. The palette has been expanded with two new shades — «Eastern Purple» and «Green Wave», with six colors available in total.

The main update is a 15.6-inch screen with 2.5K resolution powered by a Snapdragon 8155 processor. The MG×OPPO system allows synchronizing your smartphone with the vehicle: transferring navigation routes by shaking the phone, voice-controlling car functions, and providing access to all mobile applications. The classic dashboard has been replaced by a compact digital display.

Technical specifications are modest: a 163 hp motor with 250 Nm of torque. Lithium-iron-phosphate batteries provide a range of 437 or 537 km. The price range will be announced after the pre-orders start.
