With carefully reworked components and systems, this bold concept is aimed at those whose journeys don’t end where the pavement does.
Chrysler has challenged the conventional idea of family transport by unveiling at the Overland Expo Mountain West a concept that’s anything but a typical minivan. The Pacifica Grizzly Peak is a daring proposition for drivers who venture beyond asphalt.
Rather than settling for cosmetic cladding, the company has given the vehicle a serious off-road makeover. The most significant upgrade is the suspension: ground clearance has been increased by 70 mm in the front and 64 mm in the rear, dramatically changing the vehicle’s geometry and capability.
But the real statement comes from the wheels — 18-inch alloys wrapped in massive 31-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. Combined with the two-tone matte Arktos paint and protective body cladding, they give the Grizzly Peak a rugged, expedition-ready stance.
The exterior, however, tells only half the story. The true spirit of the concept lies in the details that transform it into a mobile base camp. A Rhino-Rack Pioneer roof platform sits up top, paired with an ARB side awning.
A full-size spare tire is mounted at the rear, while recovery boards are stashed in the cargo bay, ready for use. Adding to its overlanding arsenal are Baja Designs yellow fog lights, a TYRI LED light bar, and Mopar mud flaps.
Based on the range-topping Limited trim, the interior has been completely reimagined. Two-tone Katzkin leather with orange contrast stitching, a sport steering wheel, and matching seatbelts set the tone.
The most practical change is the removal of the third row, replaced by a flat cargo platform ideal for hauling gear or setting up a sleeping space. Camping-ready touches include a 115-volt outlet, foldable storage bags, all-weather mats, and a first-aid kit.
Mechanically, the Pacifica Grizzly Peak retains its production hardware, which is already well-suited for light off-road duty. Power comes from the familiar 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 delivering 287 hp, paired with a nine-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
Chrysler hasn’t confirmed production plans for the Grizzly Peak, but the very existence of this concept sends a clear message: family and adventure are no longer mutually exclusive. The Pacifica Grizzly Peak is a reminder that the open road calls — even for those who prefer to travel in maximum comfort.
