The large Aito M7 crossover, freshly redesigned inside and out, has officially gone on sale in China.
The Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) has opened preorders for the updated Aito M7 SUV at a starting price of about $40,300 in China. The vehicle is offered in both all-electric (BEV) and extended-range hybrid (EREV) versions.
According to analysts, more than 20,000 preorders were placed within the first 10 minutes, soaring past 100,000 in just the first hour. The official sales launch is set for September 23.
While the Aito M7 has been on the market before, this new version has undergone a major overhaul, featuring a redesigned exterior, a new interior, updated trim options, and revised dimensions.
Up front, the design now echoes the flagship Aito M8, with headlights connected by a full-width light bar and the Aito logo placed above it.
All trims come standard with Qiankun ADS 4.0, an advanced driver-assistance suite powered in part by lidar sensors.
The new M7 measures 200 inches long, 78.7 inches wide, and 70 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 119 inches. Compared to the previous model, it is 2.4 inches longer and the wheelbase has grown by 8.3 inches. Both five- and six-seat layouts are available for the Chinese market.
The rear-wheel-drive BEV version comes with a 304-horsepower motor, while the all-wheel-drive version adds a 215-horsepower front motor. A 100 kWh battery is standard, offering a range of up to 441 miles (RWD) or 410 miles (AWD) under China’s CLTC cycle.
The EREV version is built around a 1.5-liter gasoline engine rated at 158 horsepower. The RWD hybrid matches the BEV’s rear motor, while the AWD hybrid adds a 221-horsepower front motor. Depending on battery pack (37 or 53 kWh) and configuration, the extended-range hybrid offers between 910 and 1,010 miles of range (CLTC).
Inside, every M7 comes with a full LCD instrument cluster, a 16.1-inch central infotainment display, and a separate passenger-side screen. Wood trim accents the doors and center console.
Rear passengers get a ceiling-mounted entertainment screen, a built-in 7.3-liter refrigerator, and the driver’s seat features a “Zero Gravity” relaxation mode.
