Toyota is gearing up for the release of an all-new generation of the 2026 Hilux, set to make its world premiere in November. Over the past few months, eagle-eyed car enthusiasts have repeatedly spotted prototype versions of the pickup, and the latest spy shots were taken in Guatemala — where a heavily camouflaged Hilux was seen refueling at a gas station.

It’s already clear that designers have focused primarily on the front end. The truck now features a massive mesh-style grille with both horizontal and vertical inserts, as well as a redesigned bumper with a metallic skid plate. The headlights appear sharper while retaining their signature shape, and the more upright, squared-off front fascia gives the Hilux a bolder, more confident look on the road.

The side profile stays true to the model’s heritage — square wheel arches, classic side steps, solid door handles, and a set of new alloy wheels. The side mirrors now integrate turn indicators, while the taillights have been redesigned in an inverted layout compared to the outgoing model. Some parts of the body remain hidden under heavy camouflage, but it’s evident that the tailgate handle has been made more convenient and practical.

The interior remains under wraps for now, but patent images reveal that the Hilux will feature a completely redesigned dashboard, a modern center console, and a large infotainment touchscreen — reportedly up to 12 inches. The instrument cluster will be fully digital, and the equipment list will expand to include power-adjustable front seats, seat ventilation, rear power windows, and an electrically operated tailgate. Expect a new steering wheel, an electronic parking brake, and a head-up display as well.

Under the hood, the 2.8-liter diesel engine remains — producing 204 horsepower — paired with either a manual or automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive with a locking differential and off-road assist systems will also be offered. The world premiere is set for the Thailand Motor Expo, with global sales beginning in 2026. The new Hilux will reach the Indian market later, where it will compete with the Isuzu V-Cross and Mahindra Scorpio N.
