Xiaomi has hit the 500,000-vehicle mark and is gearing up for a global expansion.
Xiaomi announced that it has produced 500,000 electric vehicles in just one year and seven months — one of the fastest ramp-ups among Chinese automakers starting from scratch. Its debut models, the SU7 and YU7, have performed strongly: from January through October alone, the company sold 315,376 units, edging closer to its annual goal of 400,000.
Company leadership sees this milestone as a launchpad for the next phase of growth. Xiaomi is scaling up its manufacturing capacity and preparing an expanded lineup. Among the upcoming models are a larger SUV with extended driving range and a more powerful version of the YU7.
A key part of the long-term strategy is entering the European market in 2027. The company hopes to strengthen its presence outside China and compete with brands focused on modern, city-oriented EVs. This move could shape the decision-making of buyers considering the new wave of electric-vehicle offerings.
Xiaomi notes that 2026 will bring fresh announcements, and its current production pace gives the company confidence as it plans further expansion.
