The model gets subtle styling tweaks and adopts the latest e-Power hybrid system.
Back in 2022, Nissan rolled out a new generation of the Serena minivan for the Japanese market. The redesign brought modest exterior updates and, more importantly, the introduction of the brand’s latest e-Power hybrid setup.
Now, reports out of Japan suggest that the Serena is gearing up for a mid-cycle update scheduled for February 2026. The refresh is expected to affect the van’s appearance and may even bring a few technical enhancements.
According to Japanese media, the updated Serena will adopt a revised exterior. The grille may take on a more vertical layout with integrated daytime running lights, the headlights could become noticeably sharper, and the front bumper is rumored to receive sportier, built-in air inlets.
Other exterior changes reportedly include newly styled alloy wheels.
Inside, insiders say the refreshed Serena will feature a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster paired with a 10.8-inch head-up display. The 12.3-inch center screen is expected to come loaded with Google-based navigation and a 360-degree camera system with a 3D viewing mode.
For rear passengers, Nissan plans to offer an extra-large 15.6-inch touchscreen as an option.
Rumor also has it that interior materials will be upgraded, and Nissan’s ProPilot 2.0 driver-assistance suite will become standard across the lineup.
Under the hood, things stay the same. The Serena will continue to rely on Nissan’s second-generation e-Power hybrid system, built around a naturally aspirated 1.4-liter gasoline engine.
This setup is known for its impressive efficiency, averaging about 4.8 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
