Whether it’s summer heat or winter conditions, all-season tires are designed to perform reliably year-round.

They appeal to buyers thanks to their versatility, eliminating the need for a second set of tires, seasonal changeovers, and the hassle of storage.

However, not every all-season tire delivers the ideal performance that makes a car’s behavior as predictable and safe as possible.

Toward the end of 2025, the German automotive outlet AutoBild conducted a series of tests on 15 of the most popular all-season tires in Europe in size 225/40 R18, selecting the top-performing models.

The overall winner of the test series was the Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3.

Experts were impressed by the tire’s grip on snow and its short braking distances, as well as the vehicle’s strong stability in the rain and consistent handling on wet roads. The tire earned a score of 1.1—the best result among all competitors in the 225/40 R18 size.

Second place went to the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 with a score of 1.2. Rounding out the top three was the Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport (1.3), which also received the “Green Tire” eco label and the “ECO Champion” title for its balanced environmental impact.
