The new off-road SUV will be positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Bronco Raptor.
Ford Motor Company and RTR Vehicles, the performance brand founded by renowned drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr., have announced an expanded partnership with the introduction of the new Ford Bronco RTR for the 2027 model year.
This high-speed off-road SUV is designed to serve as a more accessible alternative to the Bronco Raptor, slotting neatly between the Bronco Badlands and the Raptor in Ford’s lineup.
Developed and tested in the harsh conditions of California’s Johnson Valley desert, the Bronco RTR blends RTR’s expertise in vehicle dynamics with serious, no-compromise off-road capability. The SUV comes standard with 33-inch all-terrain tires and a modified suspension with increased ground clearance—marking the first time Ford has offered this combination on the Bronco.
For hardcore off-road enthusiasts, Ford will offer the optional Sasquatch package, which adds 35-inch Goodyear tires and the HOSS 3.0 suspension system with Fox shocks, similar to those used on the first-generation F-150 Raptor. Previously available only on the Badlands trim, the HOSS 3.0 setup now delivers the highest suspension performance short of the Bronco Raptor itself.
The Bronco RTR also features race-inspired anti-turbo-lag technology and a powerful 1,000-watt cooling fan borrowed from the Bronco Raptor, helping the engine maintain consistent performance in extreme conditions.
Visually, the Bronco RTR stands out with a unique RTR grille featuring signature lighting, a new Avalanche Gray exterior color, and bold Hyper Lime accents. Other distinguishing elements include 17-inch RTR Evo 6 beadlock wheels, Trail Sights mounting points, and prominent Bronco lettering across the grille.
Ford says the Bronco RTR will deliver all of these upgrades without a significant price jump. Powertrain options are expected to include the standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder rated at 275 horsepower, with an optional 2.7-liter V6 producing 315 horsepower.
The Ford Bronco RTR will make its public debut at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show. Order books are set to open in October, with sales beginning in January 2027.
