When money isn’t a concern, finding the ideal RV for your plans would be easy. But real life rarely works like that. Most buyers still keep an eye on the budget—even when shopping in the luxury segment.

In the premium compact motorhome market, the Benimar Amphitryon A967 shows what budget-friendly luxury can actually look like.

Benimar, an RV manufacturer from Spain, has gradually built a strong following among campers across Europe. The reason is pretty simple: the company produces some of the most creative and well-designed compact motorhomes available today, and it does so without forcing buyers to spend a fortune.

Back in 2019, Benimar launched the Amphitryon series, which quickly became the brand’s flagship lineup. These motorhomes combine elegant design, solid build quality, and generous features while still staying competitively priced. That doesn’t mean they’re cheap—it simply means buyers get a smarter value for the level of luxury offered.

The lineup includes three floorplans, with the A967 positioned right in the middle. That balance makes it something of a “best of both worlds” option, offering plenty of living space and comfort while maintaining a practical overall size. And visually, it’s a real stunner.

Since its debut, the Amphitryon A967 has gone through several updates. The 2026 version introduces refreshed styling and new features while keeping the same proven layout. It’s built on a Fiat Ducato chassis powered by a Euro 6 2.2-liter engine producing 140 horsepower, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The RV rides on standard 15-inch wheels and measures 7.42 meters (24 feet) in total length.

Width comes in at 2.37 meters (7.7 feet), while height reaches 2.95 meters (9.6 feet), providing full standing room inside. In standard configuration, the motorhome sleeps four people. That setup includes a manual drop-down bed above the dinette and a fixed rear bedroom using the popular German layout—two twin beds that can easily convert into a larger queen-size sleeping area.

On paper, the layout may seem fairly typical for European motorhomes. Where Benimar really stands out is in how the space is used and styled. Thanks to the RV’s dimensions, the interior feels roomy even when fully occupied.

Design plays a big role here. Buyers can choose between two interior color schemes and textile options. Regardless of the choice, the cabin features premium materials, carefully crafted cabinetry with smooth handle-free fronts, soft rounded corners, and an overall feel that resembles a small modern apartment.

As expected in a premium motorhome, equipment and finishes are above average. The spacious dinette is officially rated for four people, but thanks to the face-to-face seating arrangement, up to six guests could realistically gather around the expandable dining table.

Because the drop-down bed sits above this area, there’s no overhead storage. However, the open design actually makes the lounge feel more spacious and less cluttered. The bed itself supports up to 230 kg (507 pounds), meaning it’s built for two adults rather than just children.

The galley kitchen sits along the driver’s side and uses a single-block layout with plenty of usable workspace. A three-burner cooktop and sink combination sits under a glass cover that doubles as extra prep space. Storage cabinets both above and below the counter keep kitchen essentials organized. Across from the galley is a 150-liter compressor refrigerator, larger than usual and conveniently positioned.

The bathroom features a pass-through design connecting the main living area to the rear bedroom. With two doors, the setup offers additional privacy and flexibility—something Benimar clearly considered a highlight of this floorplan.

In practical terms, it’s one of the better split bathrooms found in a motorhome this size. On the driver’s side there’s a full shower, while the opposite side houses a toilet room with sink, vanity, and storage. Closing one door can also create a roomy changing area connected to the wardrobes at the foot of the beds.

The bedroom itself sits on a raised platform, leaving room for a large pass-through storage garage underneath. The space is big enough for two e-bikes along with plenty of additional gear. Each bed also incorporates built-in wardrobes, including a pull-out section with a hanging rail and multiple storage compartments.

A hatch in the center of the bedroom provides direct access to the garage, which is both heated and illuminated. Overhead storage cubbies sit above the bed, and the RV comes standard with a 15-centimeter-thick residential mattress.

Standard equipment includes a 4000-watt Truma heating system that handles both cabin heat and hot water. Freshwater capacity is 105 liters, matched by a separate 105-liter waste tank. Both tanks are insulated and mounted underneath, allowing the motorhome to operate comfortably during colder months.

The maximum allowed weight is 3,500 kg (7,716 pounds), with a payload of 399 kg (880 pounds). Buyers who need more capacity can choose an optional heavy chassis rated at 4,400 kg (9,700 pounds), which also upgrades the powertrain to a 180-horsepower engine with an automatic transmission and a larger 90-liter fuel tank.

Additional equipment is available through packages, which is common among European RV manufacturers. The Plus Pack adds 16-inch alloy wheels, all-season tires, garage rails with tie-downs, and a rear parking system. The Winter Pack upgrades the heating system and adds an exterior thermal screen. Other packages bring features like automatic climate control, a fully digital instrument cluster, and Alde underfloor heating.

Of course, nothing extra comes free—especially on an already well-equipped premium RV.

Each optional package increases the final cost, but the Amphitryon A967 still remains competitively priced for its class. Listings for the 2026 model typically range between $111,200 and $129,000 depending on the chosen configuration.
