The Stainless Steel Monster Just Got Tougher. Tuners Turn the Cybertruck Into a Tank

The Cybertruck finally gets the rugged, expedition-grade gear its stainless-steel body was always begging for.

Unplugged Performance, a shop famous for its work on Teslas, has finally addressed the shortcomings baked into Elon Musk’s base-model pickup. For $18,500, the Cybertruck receives a true overlanding setup that feels like it should have been there from the factory.

The biggest selling point of the UP Invincible Expedition Package is that it’s completely reversible. Every component bolts directly on, so there’s no need to drill into the body. That’s a huge deal for anyone stuck in a lease or looking to keep their factory warranty intact.

First off, the Unplugged crew ditched the plastic front bumper for a steel unit with a bull bar. This doesn’t just improve the approach angle for better off-road geometry—it seriously beefs up the truck’s front-end protection. In a surprising twist, the stock metal hood gets swapped out for a carbon fiber version.

It’s lighter and houses a 50-inch LED light bar. And honestly, lighting is kind of overkill here. Beyond the main headlights, the bumper integrates two auxiliary fog light modules, and there’s yet another powerful LED panel mounted on the roof. Wait, there’s more. For the night-crawling fanatics, a separate package called "Pretty F’n Bright Light" is available. This $6,000+ lighting suite basically turns midnight into high noon.

The underbody protection is just as serious. The Expedition Package includes steel rock sliders for the sills and heavy-duty skid plates to shield the high-voltage battery and suspension components. The truck’s bedsides also feature MOLLE mounting panels, letting you strap jerry cans, shovels, and other recovery gear to the exterior to save cargo space in the bed.

The wheel options deserve their own spotlight. For actual dirt duty, you can opt for 18-inch forged UP-03 Beadlock wheels, which, as the name suggests, feature true beadlocks. If you have no intention of leaving the pavement, the catalog offers aggressive 22-inch and even 24-inch designs called Cybrhex, Cybrspoke, and Cybrnova.

The shop also thought about trucks without the air suspension. For the base rear-wheel-drive Cybertruck that misses out on the smart adaptive shocks, there’s the Pursuit Package. It includes an adjustable rear anti-roll bar and sport brake pads. Stage two lets you add new brake rotors, and stage three brings full-on racing shocks and wheels into the mix.
