Hyundai secured five places in the new “Best Adventure Vehicles 2026” rankings published by U.S. News & World Report. The annual list focuses on vehicles best suited for long-distance travel, camping, and active outdoor lifestyles. Hyundai’s winners included the Hyundai IONIQ 9, Hyundai Tucson, Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, Hyundai Palisade Hybrid, and Hyundai Kona.

The all-electric IONIQ 9 stood out in two separate categories, earning recognition as one of the best electric SUVs for road trips and camping. Reviewers praised its roomy interior and travel-friendly features designed for long hours behind the wheel. The Tucson and Tucson Hybrid were highlighted as top compact crossovers for camping, while the Kona and Palisade Hybrid were included among the best vehicles for adventure-focused travel.

Hyundai says demand for these types of vehicles continues to rise as more American families embrace road trips and outdoor recreation. The company has focused heavily on spacious cabins, efficient powertrains, advanced safety technology, and connected-car features across its SUV lineup.

For the Kona, Hyundai emphasized its modern active and passive safety systems. The Tucson lineup earned additional attention for its hybrid variants and the more rugged XRT Pro trim aimed at buyers looking for extra off-road-inspired styling and capability.

The larger Palisade Hybrid and IONIQ 9 target shoppers who want three-row seating combined with premium comfort. The Palisade pairs that space with a hybrid powertrain, while the IONIQ 9 delivers a fully electric driving experience. According to U.S. News & World Report, both models successfully combine passenger room, efficiency, and practical travel features that appeal to modern adventure-minded buyers.
