Italian company Atlantis has unveiled the new Carbon 4×4 motorhome, featuring a unique construction.
The new Atlantis Carbon 4×4 stands out from similar models with several distinctive design features. First and foremost, it is the world's only motorhome with a carbon-fiber monocoque construction. That combination of words is usually associated with expensive supercars. But that's not the only thing that sets the new model apart.
The Carbon 4×4 is designed for off-road use. In other words, the Italian company has created a strong and lightweight motorhome capable of traveling on virtually any road. The model shown is equipped with a brush guard, several winches, additional underbody protection, spotlights, recovery boards, a snorkel, and a full-size spare tire. The Carbon 4×4 also has high ground clearance.
The Italian model is based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis. Under the hood, the Carbon 4×4 has a German-built engine producing 190 horsepower, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The model measures 6,750 mm long and 2,150 mm wide.
As standard, the new motorhome comes with two sleeping berths and four seats. The rear of the cabin features a full dining area with a kitchen and a bathroom.
Another key feature of the Carbon 4×4 is its solar panels, which supply energy to two lithium batteries.
This means the Italian motorhome is fully self-sufficient and does not require an additional generator to power its equipment while parked.
The Carbon 4×4 has a double floor that conceals numerous storage compartments. Thanks to its monocoque construction, the motorhome provides high-quality insulation. For an additional cost, the Italian company also offers heated floors.
The interior is finished primarily in brown tones. Atlantis uses genuine leather for the seats, but buyers can order more practical materials. Several lighting fixtures are installed throughout the cabin. The motorhome's bed sits on a raised platform that contains additional storage drawers. Standard equipment also includes a 360-degree camera system, air conditioning, and an automatic leveling system.
In addition, buyers get a combination heater and water heater, two 180-liter tanks, and a 10-inch control panel. The motorhome starts at a minimum of €149,667.
