The SK-generation Forester sits higher and gains Roadhouse’s KADDIS AR4 kit for city streets and off-road trails.
Japanese tuning company Roadhouse has introduced its own body kit for the Subaru Forester, giving the popular crossover a more rugged look while adding extra ground clearance. The package focuses on a handful of exterior upgrades and suspension changes, creating a vehicle better suited to leaving the pavement without sacrificing everyday comfort.
Roadhouse based the project on the SK-generation Forester and named the collection of parts the KADDIS AR4. The kit is designed to change the vehicle’s appearance and improve its off-road stance without requiring extensive structural modifications.
One of the most prominent upgrades is a set of fender extensions. The front pieces add about 1.4 inches to the vehicle’s overall width, while the rear extensions add roughly 1.2 inches. Their shape gives the Forester a lighter visual profile while emphasizing its wider stance.
At the front, Roadhouse’s Forester gets a distinctive aerodynamic hood. Its design gives the crossover a sportier appearance, while red-orange accents pay tribute to the color associated with the Forester Wilderness trim. Additional styling details have been added around the fog lights and other parts of the front fascia.
The side and rear profile is finished with mud flaps, a roof rack and a larger rear hatch spoiler. The roof rack is more than a styling accessory, adding practical cargo-carrying capacity for outdoor trips. Roadhouse also offers a deflector for the rack.
The tuner paid particular attention to the suspension. Special lift springs raise the Forester by about 1.2 inches while retaining the factory shock absorbers. The setup is intended to work both on pavement and off-road, allowing the added ground clearance without a major compromise in ride comfort.
The look is completed by 16-inch Bloodstock Matte Black MILL wheels measuring 16x8J+13. They are fitted with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires in a 235/70R16 size. Combined with the wider fenders, increased ground clearance and mud flaps, the wheels and tires give the Forester a distinctly more rugged appearance.
The KADDIS AR4 package is designed to be installed piece by piece rather than as a single all-or-nothing upgrade. In Japan, the fender extensions are priced at ¥63,800, or about $430, while the rear hatch spoiler costs ¥30,800, or roughly $210. The aerodynamic hood is ¥107,800, which works out to approximately $730.
The premium orange mud flaps cost ¥28,600, or about $195. A headlight bracket is priced at ¥16,500, or roughly $110, while the lift-spring kit costs ¥51,700, equivalent to about $350.
