Segment: Heavy-duty SUV
The Land Cruiser 70 Series was developed for military, humanitarian and commercial use in some of the harshest environments. Its design features a rugged frame, heavy-duty drivetrain and solid axles.
Different versions have been offered with naturally aspirated inline-six engines and V8s. The relatively simple design and strength of its major components have helped the 70 Series earn a reputation for handling extreme workloads.
With regular maintenance, some examples have surpassed 500,000 miles.

The second-generation Sequoia remained in production for 14 years and was built on a body-on-frame chassis. Its primary engine was a 5.7-liter gasoline V8.
