The updated Haval H7 appears in tests in China: a hybrid without a plug and a new grille.
In China, the updated Haval H7 2026 was spotted on public roads undergoing camouflage testing. Earlier in April, this model was already mentioned in documents from the Ministry of Industry of China, where some details about the upcoming novelty were revealed. In particular, it's known that the crossover will receive a redesigned front end with a massive radiator grille adorned with a large «Haval» inscription — the signature style of the brand's latest models.
Under the hood of the test vehicle, according to official data, there was supposed to be a Hi4 hybrid powertrain capable of being charged from the electrical grid. However, attentive observers noted an HEV badge on the fifth door, indicating a conventional hybrid without external charging capabilities. Additional confirmation is the absence of a cable connection port on the rear right fender — a characteristic feature of all plug-in hybrids.
Thus, despite the anticipation of a PHEV version, it was indeed a regular hybrid spotted in the tests. This could mean that Haval is preparing several modifications of the H7 to target different market segments. The updated crossover is expected to feature not only a fresh design but also an expanded range of powertrains, with an official premiere already slated for the coming months.
