The Ferrari HC25 could be a unique vehicle created exclusively for a single customer.
Ferrari plans to launch 20 new vehicles by 2030. That works out to an average of four new models per year over the next five years—and a newly filed trademark may offer a hint at what’s coming. The automaker has submitted an application to register the name Ferrari HC25 with the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Based on the name alone, any car carrying the HC25 designation would likely be a bespoke creation built for a specific client. Ferrari has a history of producing ultra-exclusive one-off models, including the SC40—a modern tribute to the iconic F40—based on the 296 GTB.
The first two letters could represent the owner’s initials, while “25” may refer to the year 2025, a 25th anniversary, or something else entirely.
Whatever form the HC25 ultimately takes, it’s almost certain to be built on an existing platform. The SC40, for example, retained the 296 GTB’s chassis and twin-turbo hybrid V-6 powertrain, producing the same 818 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque. It’s highly unlikely Ferrari would develop an all-new architecture for a single, bespoke vehicle.
Where the HC25 would likely set itself apart is in its design. With the SC40, Ferrari completely reworked the body, drawing clear inspiration from the F40 while keeping the underlying hardware intact.
Interestingly, Ferrari’s trademark filing covers not only automobiles but also a wide range of merchandise, including smartphone cases, sunglasses, bags, and more. That’s somewhat unusual, as one-off models rarely lead to extensive branded merchandise. There’s also the possibility that the HC25 name will never be used publicly at all—automakers frequently register trademarks that never make it to a production vehicle.
