Vintage Looks, Modern Comfort: Gulf Stream's Vintage Cruiser 19TWD Blends Classic Style With Today's RV Features

It's easy to romanticize the past, but many vintage RVs fall short when it comes to the comfort and convenience today's travelers expect. They may turn heads with classic styling, but they're products of a different era.

The Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser 19TWD takes a different approach. It delivers the nostalgic look of a classic camper while offering the features and conveniences found in a modern travel trailer. Despite its vintage appearance, it's an all-new design built for today's RV owners.

The 19TWD has been part of Gulf Stream Coach's Vintage Cruiser lineup for six years and is the second-lightest model in the company's Lightweight Trailer series. Gulf Stream Coach, the largest independent RV manufacturer in North America, created the Vintage Cruiser family for buyers who love retro styling without giving up modern comfort.

The company describes the lineup as combining "the fun of the '50s" with 21st-century technology. The Vintage Cruiser family now includes 13 floor plans, ranging from compact single-axle trailers like the 19TWD to larger tandem-axle models with slide-outs designed for bigger groups.

Despite its compact footprint, the 19TWD is designed to sleep four people. Its layout also separates the sleeping areas at night while allowing access to the bathroom from either side, making the floor plan more practical for multiple occupants.

The 19TWD shares much of its design with the 19ERD introduced earlier, but the biggest difference is found in the front bedroom. Instead of a queen-size bed, this model features two twin beds separated by a nightstand. An extension between them allows the beds to convert into a king-size sleeping area when needed.

That setup offers flexibility, providing separate beds or one larger sleeping space depending on the situation.

Like the rest of the Vintage Cruiser lineup, the 19TWD uses a welded aluminum frame, Azdel composite sidewalls, and a one-piece fiberglass roof. Retro styling carries through both the exterior and interior. The trailer rides on a single axle with matching vintage-style hubcaps and measures 23.1 feet long and 7.6 feet wide.

Inside, the rear dinette converts into a double bed and includes overhead storage cabinets. The entry door opens directly into this living area, while the kitchen sits immediately forward of the entrance.

The kitchen reflects the trailer's mix of classic design and modern equipment. It comes equipped with a three-burner gas cooktop, an RV oven, a compact microwave, and a large stainless-steel sink with a cover. Across from the galley is a 12-volt refrigerator finished to match the chosen retro-inspired interior color. The example shown features a teal finish.

Counter space is somewhat limited unless the sink cover and cooktop lid are used as additional work surfaces. Storage, however, is plentiful both above and below the counters. The nearby dinette table can also serve as extra prep space when needed.

A pass-through bathroom separates the front bedroom from the main living area. While this layout is still relatively uncommon in North American travel trailers, it has become increasingly popular, and Gulf Stream has used it in this floor plan since 2019.

The bathroom includes a private toilet room with a flush toilet, a vanity with a small sink, and a separate shower opposite. Doors on both ends allow either section of the trailer to be closed off for added privacy.

The front bedroom provides additional storage along with the twin-bed arrangement. When the beds are converted into a king-size bed, most of the available walking space disappears, but that's one of the tradeoffs of a compact travel trailer.

Standard equipment includes a tankless water heater, a 25,000-BTU furnace, a roof-mounted 13,500-BTU air conditioner, two LP gas tanks, and a 100-watt rooftop solar panel. It also comes with Goodyear Endurance tires, a 30-gallon fresh water tank, plus 33-gallon gray and black water tanks.

The trailer has a dry weight of 3,220 pounds and a cargo carrying capacity of 1,345 pounds. Those numbers make the 19TWD towable by a wide variety of vehicles while still offering many of the comforts expected in a full-featured travel trailer.

Buyers can choose exterior colors including Atomic Red or the turquoise finish shown here, along with knotty pine or cream interior cabinetry.

Gulf Stream also offers a Laura Ashley Special Edition on select Vintage Cruiser floor plans, including the 19TWD. The package adds plaid exterior graphics, floral accents, and custom bedding inspired by the British designer's signature style.

The 2026 Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser 19TWD typically sells for between $24,000 and $28,000, depending on the dealer.
