Hyundai’s sleek electric sedan is disappearing fast, with remaining inventory nearly exhausted nationwide.
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 has established itself as one of the standout mainstream EVs on the market, combining impressive range, distinctive styling, and strong value. But with the model set to leave the U.S. lineup after the 2025 model year, shoppers have been snapping up the remaining cars. In fact, the electric sedan has effectively sold out.
Recent inventory data shows that fewer than 100 examples of the IONIQ 6 remain available across the country. Buyers interested in owning one of Hyundai’s final streamlined electric sedans may need to broaden their search area—or even travel to another state—to find the configuration they want.
The rapid sellout is hardly surprising. The IONIQ 6 offered up to 342 miles of driving range, available dual-motor performance with as much as 320 horsepower, and a long list of technology features. Starting at $39,595 including destination charges, it also represented one of the more affordable entries in the EV segment. Leasing deals made it especially attractive to cost-conscious buyers.
Over the past year, Hyundai has been laying out the future of the model. Last November, the automaker introduced the high-performance IONIQ 6 N, equipped with dual electric motors producing 641 horsepower. The sport sedan features Hyundai’s N e-Shift technology, aggressive styling, and a claimed 0-60 mph time of just 3.2 seconds.
At the same time, many enthusiasts expected the updated version of the standard IONIQ 6 to make its way to American dealerships. However, Hyundai later confirmed that the refreshed model would not be offered in the U.S.
That decision effectively put a timer on the current-generation car, and consumers responded accordingly. With production winding down and no facelift coming to America, the remaining inventory disappeared quickly.
For buyers who appreciate efficiency, futuristic styling, and strong value, the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 appears to be heading out on a high note—even if finding one now may prove to be the biggest challenge.
