Ford is reshuffling the 2027 Maverick lineup, restricting EcoBoost availability while lowering prices on several sportier trims.
Ford is taking a fresh look at how the Maverick is configured for the 2027 model year. The compact pickup gets some changes under the hood, with the turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost no longer available on the XL and Lariat trims. Ford is also making some notable adjustments to pricing, according to CarsDirect.
The changes mean buyers have fewer ways to get the 2.0-liter EcoBoost, but shoppers interested in the Maverick’s more performance-focused versions are getting a break. The standard Lobo now starts at $34,000, a $3,775 drop from last year’s model. The Lobo High also gets a substantial reduction, with its starting price falling to $39,000, or $4,270 less than before. The Tremor lands at the same $39,000 starting price after Ford cut $3,490 from its previous sticker.
The news isn’t quite as good for buyers who simply want the turbocharged four-cylinder. Ford’s latest pricing and equipment changes push up the entry point for the 2.0-liter EcoBoost. For 2027, the base XL can no longer be paired with that engine. Since the XL is now hybrid-only, the cheapest Maverick with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost is the all-wheel-drive XLT, which starts at $32,890 without the hybrid powertrain.
The Maverick’s overall starting price, however, remains unchanged. The hybrid XL continues to start at $29,990 for 2027, keeping Ford’s compact pickup relatively accessible at the bottom of the lineup.
