Buick officially presented its updated electric crossover Electra E5 in China, available in three trims, priced from 169,900 to 189,900 yuan (~$23,500 to $26,500). It is claimed that the 2025 Buick E5 has a total of 47 updates compared to its predecessor.

The novelty is positioned as a mid-size SUV and has dimensions of 4892/1905/1681(1683) mm length/width/height), with a wheelbase of 2954 mm. The standard luggage volume is 502 liters, and with the second-row seats folded, it increases to 1658 liters.

The vehicle is based on the front-wheel drive Ultium 2.0 platform, which features a front synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets, with a maximum power of 241 hp and a maximum torque of 330 Nm. The model's top speed is 180 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.4 seconds. Moreover, the potential owner has four driving modes at their disposal.

Three modifications of the electric crossover will be offered, with different battery options and, accordingly, different maximum ranges:

In particular, the version boasting a range of 620 km can be charged in just 10 minutes for an additional 210 km range, largely due to the use of an AI-based "smart" energy management system.

Inside, users will find the intelligent eConnect cockpit, with a 30-inch curved 6K resolution display. The multimedia system operates on a high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, in all versions of the electric crossover.

Included in the features are a new intelligent voice assistant, over-the-air (OTA) software updates, the latest version of iOS 26 CarPlay, remote control of a set of vehicle functions via mobile phone, an extended package of advanced driver assistance systems eCruise Level 2, and more. Additionally, the backrest angle of the rear seat is adjustable by up to 27° (!).

Moreover, the expensive "audio" experience enhances the impression, featuring 8 or 14 speakers depending on the trim, and in the top model, users have access to Bose Centerpoint audio systems.
