At the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Maserati unveiled the MCPURA 2026 — its boldest project in recent years. This car, handcrafted in Modena, symbolizes a new chapter for the brand with the trident, blending tradition, technology, and contemporary Italian design.

The name of the newcomer is chosen with a subtext: the abbreviation "MC" refers to the MC20, inspired by the iconic MC12, while the word "PURA," meaning «pure» in Italian, emphasizes the main priorities — emotions, aesthetics, and performance. Maserati played on Einstein's famous formula, rephrasing it to «E = MCPURA», where energy reflects style, materials, and the breadth of personalization.

The car is available in two variants: a closed coupe and an open-top version called Cielo. Both are equipped with a 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 engine — Maserati's own development. This engine develops 621 hp and 730 Nm, providing a power density of 207 horsepower per liter. At just 3,000 rpm, torque reaches 722 Nm. At the heart of the engine is a pre-chamber combustion system with twin spark plugs — a technology borrowed from Formula 1 and protected by several patents.

Thanks to the lightweight construction and carbon fiber monocoque, the car weighs no more than 1,500 kg, with a power-to-weight ratio of 2.36 kg per horsepower. This is one of the best indicators among ICE-powered supercars.

For the Goodwood debut, a special body shade was chosen — Ai Aqua Rainbow. It was created as part of the Fuoriserie customization program. In sunlight, this iridescent color plays like a prism. The exterior elements are accented by purple Trident emblems with a blue effect on the grille, rear pillars, and wheel hubs. The finishing touch — polished diamond-cut wheels.

The interior is also styled with a focus on style and individuality. Seats are trimmed with «ice» colored Alcantara adorned with laser-engraved Trident. Inserts of multicolored fabric with a 3D effect blend blue and red-blue shades, visually adding depth to the interior. The luxurious yet sporty atmosphere is accentuated by the butterfly doors that reveal the carbon chassis. The Cielo version features a glass PDLC roof with adjustable transparency — it can turn from matte to completely transparent in just a second, creating an open-sky sensation.

One of the key principles of the new model is personalization. The Fuoriserie program offers over thirty paint options, including fresh choices like Devil Orange, Verde Royale, and Night Interaction. Coatings can be single-layered or include four matte layers, depending on the customer's preference.

“With MCPURA, Maserati is once again regaining its rightful place: at the top and in its stomping ground. Both versions – coupé and Cielo – are created at our historic Modena facility, where the heart of the Trident has been beating for nearly 90 years. Modena is not just our headquarters; it forms part of our identity. We are the oldest automotive marque in the Motor Valley, an area we helped to build and continue to represent around the world. From there, we proudly tell the story of Italian excellence and luxury” – Santo Ficili, Maserati COO

The MCPURA will sit between classic track-oriented supercars like the Huracán STO and modern hybrids such as the Ferrari 296 GTB or McLaren Artura. Unlike those, Maserati bets on lightweight construction, motorsport technology, and expressive Italian style rather than electrification.

Production of the new model will be set up at the historic Maserati plant on Via Ciro Menotti in Modena. Here, Nettuno engines, the GT2 Stradale track version, and future GranTurismo and GranCabrio models are also assembled. Prices for the MCPURA have not yet been disclosed, but given the MC20's starting price in 2020 (around $200,000), expectations might be similar. As per tradition, Maserati plans to limit production — between 800 to 1,200 units per year, including both versions, underscoring the model's exclusivity but not exceeding production capabilities.
