Stellantis Warns Customer Data Stolen in Cyberattack

Auto giant Stellantis has confirmed a data theft affecting customers of brands including Fiat, Dodge, and Chrysler.

Stellantis, the Dutch-based multinational automaker, has confirmed that personal data belonging to its customers was stolen. The breach impacts several of its major brands, including Fiat, Dodge, and Chrysler.

The company stressed that no financial or highly sensitive information was compromised. According to Stellantis, the source of the breach was traced to a third-party provider.

The cyberattack was carried out by the hacking group ShinyHunters. According to BleepingComputer, the attackers stole roughly 18 million records, including customer names and contact details from Stellantis’s service platform. ShinyHunters has previously been linked to attacks on major companies such as Google and Adidas.

Formed in 2021, Stellantis is headquartered in Hoofddorp, Netherlands, and unites 14 global brands, including Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Dodge, Fiat, Maserati, Opel, and Peugeot. The company employs more than 258,000 people across about 130 countries and also manufactures electric vehicles. Its market capitalization exceeds €43 billion.

Stellantis emphasized the importance of security and urged customers to remain vigilant for any suspicious activity involving their personal information.
