BAIC Arcfox has officially pulled the wraps off the new Alpha T5, a sleek electric SUV available in BEV (battery-electric) and EREV (extended-range) versions. Pricing starts at 113,800 yuan (about $16,000) and goes up to 158,800 yuan (around $22,200), placing it squarely in the competitive mid-range EV market in China.

The EREV variant is powered by BAIC’s 1.5-liter Shenqing range extender, offering 215 km (134 miles) of pure electric range before the gasoline generator kicks in. The top-spec BEV model, meanwhile, delivers an impressive 705 km (438 miles) of range on the CLTC cycle.

Arcfox also unveiled its new “Yuanjing Intelligent Driving” and “Yuanjing Intelligent Cabin” systems, providing a suite of driver-assistance and smart cockpit technologies. Depending on configuration, the Alpha T5 supports autonomous driving levels from L2 to L4.

Visually, the Alpha T5 adopts a clean, aerodynamic design with a closed front grille, triangular LED headlights with DRLs, 19-inch wheels, and a full-width LED taillight bar. Inside, the cabin combines premium materials with high-tech flair: a 15.6-inch central display, 22.8-inch head-up display (HUD), support for Apple CarPlay and Huawei HiCar, and comfort features like massage, heating, and ventilation for the front seats, all paired with an 18-speaker premium sound system.

The BEV models use a single 200 kW electric motor and come with battery packs ranging from 64.8 kWh to 79.2 kWh. The EREV version pairs the 1.5-liter range extender with the same 200 kW motor, delivering 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) acceleration in 6.5 seconds, 215 km of electric-only range, and a combined range of 1,215 km (755 miles).

The new Alpha T5 reinforces Arcfox’s position as one of China’s most dynamic EV brands, blending long-range capability, intelligent technology, and attainable pricing — all in a modern, premium package.
