The ZR1X joins Chevrolet’s new Corvette Stars & Steel Collection created to honor America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
The Chevy Corvette has long been considered America’s signature sports car—a blend of performance, engineering, and unmistakable design. So as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, Chevrolet chose an appropriately bold way to mark the occasion: unveiling a unique, one-off Corvette ZR1X.
Often referred to as America’s hypercar, the ZR1X carries that reputation not because it fits the hypercar label in the traditional sense, but because its capabilities rival those that do. The hybrid system delivers an astonishing 1,250 horsepower, and the car’s Nürburgring lap time of 6:49.275 made it the fastest American production vehicle ever to circle the legendary track. The numbers alone explain why the ZR1X has earned such an intimidating aura.
This special anniversary model is part of Chevrolet’s Stars & Steel Collection, a lineup created to celebrate the country’s 250-year milestone. Alongside the ZR1X, the collection includes a Silverado LD, Silverado EV, Silverado HD, and the Colorado.
“Each vehicle receives curated exterior and interior color combinations, American flag-inspired graphics and select premium options that underscore patriotism,” Chevy said in a news release.
For the Corvette, that translates into a choice of black or white exterior paint accented with flag-inspired striping. Unique sill plates, a commemorative plaque, and an individualized build sequence number set the car apart. Buyers will also have three wheel options—including carbon fiber—along with plenty of red accents, from seat belts and stitching to a red engine cover on certain versions.
Chevy will produce 250 Stars & Steel Corvettes in total, with the one-off ZR1X slated to be auctioned for charity in January at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event. The remaining Corvettes will span multiple trims, ranging from the base Stingray to the top-tier ZR1X. The full collection will make its public debut during the Army-Navy football game in Maryland. Unlike the Corvettes, the Silverado and Colorado editions will not be limited in production.
“The Stars & Steel Collection celebrates a key milestone for the country that not only served as the birthplace of our brand but has also been its home for nearly 115 years,” Chevy vice president Scott Bell said in a statement.
Chevrolet has not yet released pricing for the Stars & Steel upgrades, but the company confirmed it will donate $250 from every sale to charity. Production is set to begin early next year.
