With the arrival of the 2026 model year, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has received a series of targeted updates.
With the launch of the 2026 model year, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has undergone several small but notable changes—some of which may disappoint buyers. According to sources, seatback storage pockets on the front seats have been completely removed across the entire electric crossover lineup.
In the previous model year, these pockets were standard on all Mach-E trims and were considered a useful, if often overlooked, interior feature. For 2026, they are no longer available even as an option, and Ford has not yet provided an official explanation for the decision. This is not the only feature to be cut.
For the new model year, the Mustang Mach-E also loses its standard front trunk, or “frunk.” It is now offered only as a paid option across all trims. In addition, the Bronze Appearance package—featuring bronze-colored exterior accents—has been removed from the configurator. That said, Ford is partially offsetting these reductions with new offerings.
A new California Package has been added to the lineup, available exclusively on the 2026 Mustang Mach-E GT. It includes unique styling elements with Rave Blue accents on the wheels, badges, grille, and throughout the interior.
The Mach-E Rally graphics package can now be ordered separately, without requiring the full Rally package. Meanwhile, the Molten Magenta and Grabber Yellow exterior colors have been dropped, replaced by three new paint options.
At the same time, red-painted brake calipers have been removed from both the Sport Appearance and GT Appearance packages. Pricing for the 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E has not yet been officially announced.
Ford has increasingly been eliminating subtle convenience features while leaning more heavily on option packages and add-ons. For Mach-E buyers, this serves as a reminder to scrutinize trim levels carefully—everyday conveniences can no longer be taken for granted, even in new models.
