The Safest Family Crossovers Named: Top 10 Vehicles

Automotive outlet TopSpeed has compiled a ranking of the 10 safest family crossovers currently on the market.

Topping the list is the 2025 Mazda CX-30. The Japanese crossover earned a perfect five-star safety rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Two more Mazda crossovers also received five-star safety scores: the Mazda CX-50 and the 2026 Mazda CX-90.

The top 10 safest family crossovers also include the following models:

• 2025 Volvo XC90

• 2026 Genesis GV60

• 2026 Mazda CX-90

• 2025 Genesis GV80

• 2025 Kia Telluride

• 2026 Honda CR-V

• 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5

• 2025 Hyundai Palisade

Earlier, the most unreliable Toyota vehicles were also named. The GR Supra sports coupe was found to be the most problematic Toyota model over the past 20 years, with frequent issues related to the brake assist system and seatbelt pretensioners.

The Toyota bZ4X was also identified as the brand’s least reliable new model. The most common complaint from owners involves the quality of the wheel hub bolts.
