RAM has officially unveiled the refreshed 2027 model year RAM 1500 SRT TRX.
Dinosaurs may seem long extinct, but in the world of high-performance pickup trucks, one tyrannosaurus has decided to challenge evolution itself. RAM has officially introduced the updated 2027 RAM 1500 SRT TRX.
A brand-new engine, the legendary SRT badge returning to a RAM pickup for the first time since 2006, and a clear ambition to show the Raptors who the true king of off-road terrain really is.
At the heart of the new TRX is not a carryover motor, but a thoroughly reengineered supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8. RAM engineers didn’t settle for mild tuning — they created a powerplant producing a massive 777 horsepower and 679 lb-ft of torque. For comparison, the previous generation’s Final Edition delivered 702 hp and 650 lb-ft. Even its main rival, the Ford F-150 Raptor R with 720 horsepower, trails behind. This performance boost comes courtesy of a new 2.4-liter twin-screw supercharger and a dual-path air intake system.
All that power translates into staggering performance: 0–60 mph takes about 3.5 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 124 mph. But straight-line speed isn’t what defines the TRX. Its true strength lies off-road. The truck features RAM’s signature wide stance and is about 6.8 inches wider than a standard RAM 1500 thanks to massive fender flares. The suspension uses adaptive Bilstein Black Hawk e2 dampers, offering 13.0 inches of front travel and 14.0 inches in the rear. Ground clearance measures roughly 11.8 inches, and the TRX comes from the factory riding on 35-inch tires mounted on 18-inch wheels. Electronically locking differentials and six drive modes — including a dedicated Baja mode — round out the off-road package.
The exterior leaves no doubt about the truck’s mission. A unique grille with the SRT logo, an aggressive hood scoop, steel bumpers with red tow hooks, and full skid-plate protection all reinforce its tough persona. Inside, the cabin blends performance with luxury: leather seats with perforated Alcantara inserts and massage function, carbon-fiber trim, a steering wheel with red stitching, and modern digital displays. The centerpiece of the interior is a massive 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen.
A special Bloodshot Night Edition will also be offered, featuring a two-tone paint scheme, exclusive graphics, and unique interior details. Even in base form, the TRX comes generously equipped with a head-up display, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and a class-exclusive Hands-Free Active Drive Assist system that allows hands-free highway driving.
Sales of the RAM 1500 SRT TRX are set to begin in the second half of this year. The starting price is expected to come in just under $100,000 — about $11,000 less than its chief rival, the Ford F-150 Raptor R. It looks like a true revolution is brewing in the super-truck segment, and the new TRX is ready to lead it.
