GM Reportedly Planning Next-Gen Chevrolet Camaro on Cadillac CT5 Platform

General Motors is reportedly moving forward with plans for a new generation of the Chevrolet Camaro. According to industry sources, the upcoming model will likely ride on the same platform as the next-generation Cadillac CT5. That architecture is also expected to underpin a future Buick sedan.

A supplier familiar with GM’s plans, cited by Automotive News, claims production of both the new Camaro and CT5 could kick off in fall 2027.

The Camaro was discontinued in 2023, marking the end of its sixth generation. The upcoming model would represent the seventh generation of the iconic American muscle car, positioning it once again as a direct rival to the Ford Mustang.

The report also suggests GM is targeting annual production volumes of around 60,000 to 70,000 units combined for the CT5 and Camaro models.
