New BMW 7 Series Debuts With Bold “Hyper Grille,” Up to 680 HP and a Massive 43-Inch Display
MW unveils its most heavily updated 7 Series yet, pushing luxury, tech, and performance forward.
BMW has revealed an updated version of its flagship 7 Series sedan. Four years after its debut, the luxury model receives what the automaker calls the most extensive overhaul in its history. The goal is clear—strengthen its position in the high-end segment and take on rivals like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the all-electric EQS.
A major focus this time is the electric i7. It now comes with a larger 112.5 kWh battery, up from 105.7 kWh, boosting estimated range from about 387 miles to 452 miles. Fast-charging capability has also improved, with peak charging power now reaching 250 kW.
BMW also introduced updated electric motors, said to be more efficient. The lineup includes the i7 xDrive50 with 455 horsepower and the range-topping i7 M70 xDrive delivering up to 680 horsepower. The latter accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds.

Hybrid versions have been upgraded as well. They now feature a revised inline-six gasoline engine paired with a new turbocharger and electric motor. The 750e xDrive produces 489 horsepower, while the M760e xDrive delivers 613 horsepower, hitting 62 mph in 4.2 seconds.
Interestingly, the plug-in hybrids retain the same 18.7 kWh battery, with an all-electric driving range unchanged at about 50 miles.

Across the lineup, every 7 Series comes standard with adaptive suspension and active rear-wheel steering. The exterior gets a refreshed front end, including redesigned lighting elements with crystal accents, an updated grille, and a new front air intake.

Inside, the changes are even more dramatic. For the first time, a 14.6-inch display for the front passenger is standard. The infotainment system now includes a 17.9-inch central screen, while the traditional instrument cluster has been replaced by a sweeping 43.3-inch panoramic iDrive Display stretching nearly the full width of the dashboard.

Rear passengers still get the impressive 31.3-inch 8K screen, paired with a 35-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system. Executive Lounge seating is available, featuring Alcantara trim and near full-recline capability for maximum comfort.

Customization is another highlight. Buyers can choose from more than 700 interior trim options and over 500 exterior color combinations. All versions also come with soft-close doors, similar to those found on Rolls-Royce models.
With this update, BMW is doubling down on technology, electrification, and ultra-luxury—making the new 7 Series one of the most advanced sedans on the road today.
