Debut of the New Jetour Zongheng G700: Amphibious SUV with 1,400 km Range

The Jetour Zongheng G700 is a brand-new addition to the Chinese market: the hybrid SUV has been officially launched. Here’s an overview of the 2025 newcomer.

Debut of the New Jetour Zongheng G700: Amphibious SUV with 1,400 km Range

Pre-sales of the all-new Jetour Zongheng G700 have kicked off in China, following its premiere at the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show. One of the standout features highlighted by the manufacturer is the SUV’s ability to cross water obstacles for up to 40 minutes, thanks to its waterproof cabin.

The Jetour Zongheng G700 retains a classic boxy off-road silhouette, complete with a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate. Two tow hooks are integrated into both the front and rear bumpers.

A unique touch: the rear light clusters can be programmed to display digital images and text. The SUV also comes equipped with an advanced driver-assistance suite that includes autopilot-based navigation and automated parking.

The model measures 5,198/2,050/1,956 mm (length/width/height), with a 2,870 mm wheelbase and a maximum ground clearance of 320 mm. It can wade through water up to 970 mm deep (almost one meter).

According to the company, the Zongheng G700 can cross water for up to 40 minutes at a maximum speed of 4.5 knots. The cabin is engineered to withstand water pressure of 20 kPa and currents up to 5 m/s. In addition, the SUV features an intelligent All Terrain system and low-speed four-wheel drive with off-road cruise control.

Power comes from Chery’s new-generation Kunpeng CDM-O hybrid system, which combines a 2.0T turbocharged gasoline engine with two electric motors paired to a two-speed DHT transmission. Total system output reaches 751 hp and 795 Nm of torque. Fuel consumption is claimed at just 1.39 liters per 100 km, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 4.6 seconds — remarkable figures for a heavy SUV.

Equipped with CATL’s 4C Shenxing battery, the Jetour Zongheng G700 can travel up to 1,400 km on a single charge and tank in combined mode. Fast charging from 30% to 80% takes just 10 minutes, according to the manufacturer.

Inside, the cabin design is dominated by square-shaped door panels and matching air vents, complemented by a 15.6-inch central infotainment touchscreen, a 35.4-inch full-width telescopic display across the dashboard, and a three-spoke steering wheel with a flat-bottom design.

The tech-laden interior also features a 17.3-inch roof-mounted screen, a built-in refrigerator (temperature range from –6 to 50 °C), ventilated, heated, and massaging seats, and more.

Pricing has not yet been disclosed. The Zongheng nameplate represents Jetour’s new SUV family, with additional models expected to join the lineup in the coming years.
