A Fully Wooden Bentley Hits eBay — and Costs Almost as Much as the Real Thing

Built at full scale, the model can roll and even steer, but it can’t move under its own power since it has no engine.

A Fully Wooden Bentley Hits eBay — and Costs Almost as Much as the Real Thing

This full-size wooden replica of a Bentley Continental GT can roll and steer but lacks an engine, meaning it won’t drive on its own. Still, it carries a $98,900 price tag—comparable to a used Continental GT.

The handcrafted model, made in Belgium, comes from an anonymous builder. It’s notable for the attention to detail both inside and out. Constructed from marine teak and plywood, the thousands of parts were mounted onto two wooden beams serving as the frame. According to available information, the project took more than 3,000 hours to complete.

The design draws inspiration from the third-generation Continental GT, launched in 2017 and produced through 2024. The grille, bumper intakes, exhaust tips, and trim around the oval headlights and taillights are finished in a darker tone than the rest of the body for contrast. While the proportions aren’t exact, details like three-dimensional Bentley badges are faithfully reproduced.

The wooden GT features opening doors on exposed hinges. The cabin mirrors the original layout, with a dashboard, center console, and door panels that closely resemble the real thing. The seats are flatter and less sculpted, but carved patterns echo Bentley’s signature diamond stitching. The result captures the spirit of the design while making clear it’s an artisanal interpretation, not a true replica.

Except for steel axles and acrylic windows, every element—including the wheels and “tires”—is made of wood. There’s no W12 or V8 under the hood, but thanks to a rack-and-pinion system, the model can still steer.

Weighing in at 2,000 pounds (907 kg), it’s far lighter than an actual Continental GT, which tips the scales at up to 5,420 pounds (2,459 kg) in plug-in hybrid form.

The wooden Bentley is currently on display at Autosport Group in Boca Raton, Florida. The dealer has listed it on eBay for just under $100,000. According to the listing, the car does show some visible cracks along glued seams and minor scuffs inside the cabin.
