Naturally Aspirated Flex-Fuel Engine and CVT: Nissan Unveils the Kait Compact Crossover
Nissan has introduced its new small crossover, the Kait.
Nissan has lifted the curtain—though only partially—on its new compact crossover called the Kait, which comes with a naturally aspirated flex-fuel engine and front-wheel drive.
For now, the debut is limited to Brazil, and the company isn’t sharing much beyond the basics. Pricing, trim details and even interior photos are still under wraps.

According to Nissan, the Kait is powered by a 1.6-liter engine rated at 110 or 113 horsepower, depending on whether it’s running on gasoline or ethanol—standard practice for the Brazilian market. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission.
In terms of size, the Kait lands in the smaller end of the crossover segment. It stretches roughly 14.1 feet in length with a wheelbase of about 103 inches. Cargo space comes in at approximately 15.2 cubic feet.
