This Tiny Home Offers a Highly Adaptable Living Environment Thanks to Modular Furniture

While some might see them as simple structures with only the basics, tiny houses have evolved far beyond their modest origins. Today’s market thrives on creativity, with modern designs using smart layouts and multifunctional furniture to maximize usable space, making even the smallest interiors feel surprisingly open and versatile.

A standout example is the Ecobox Home 659, a cleverly designed tiny house that offers a highly flexible living environment. Its modular, space-saving furniture allows the living area to transform from a lounge to a dining room or even a guest bedroom, depending on the owner’s needs.

The EBH 659 is built by Ecobox Home, a boutique tiny home company based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Founded in 2017, the team combines expertise in carpentry, landscape architecture, and sustainable living. Their goal is to help people embrace minimalism and eco-friendly lifestyles while creating a closer connection to nature.

This tiny home is compact, easy to tow, and environmentally conscious, yet it comes packed with features. With a total living area of just 16.5 square meters (177.6 square feet), it balances efficiency, functionality, and sustainability, offering a strong alternative to traditional homes for those seeking simplicity, tranquility, and a tighter connection with the outdoors.

Inside, the space is efficiently arranged on a single level for easy access, while still providing distinct zones for different activities. The open plan includes a dedicated sleeping area separated by a small partition for privacy, a multifunctional living space that can adapt throughout the day, and a compact corner kitchen. The bathroom remains the only fully enclosed area, while the rest of the interior flows naturally from one zone to another.

The EBH 659 is ideal for a single occupant or a couple, allowing daily activities such as cooking, lounging, working, or entertaining to happen seamlessly in the same space.

Instead of relying on lofts or bulky furniture, this tiny house features custom flat-pack furniture that moves and transforms for flexibility. The main living area is furnished with two upholstered rolling benches, each with built-in storage. They can serve as a loveseat or be combined into an L-shaped sofa to accommodate guests.

The modular design also creates an extra sleeping space. The benches can be positioned side by side to form a double bed for visitors, and when not in use, they slide under the raised platform of the main bed to free up floor space.

The same area doubles as a dining space thanks to another clever design: a table is hidden within the wall. A picture frame above the sofa folds down into a dining table, and the chairs are stored flat beneath the benches.

The kitchen, located in front of the lounge/dining area, is compact but fully functional. It has an L-shaped layout with slim upper and lower cabinets, a black solid-surface countertop, a two-burner cooktop, and an integrated sink. The refrigerator is discreetly tucked behind a cabinet door, keeping the space neat and uncluttered.

A few steps from the living area lead up to the bedroom on a raised platform that doubles as storage for the rolling benches and other items. The sleeping area includes a comfortable mattress, wall-mounted reading lamps, and windows on two sides, making the space bright and connected to the outdoors.

The bathroom is small but thoughtfully designed, featuring a glass-enclosed shower, toilet, vanity with storage, generous shelving, and a mirrored medicine cabinet.

The interior is finished in plywood, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Minimalist lines, hidden storage, and uncluttered surfaces combine with large windows and glass doors to bring in natural light and maintain a sense of openness.

Built on a sturdy dual-axle metal trailer, the EBH 659 measures 6.6 meters (21.6 feet) long, 2.55 meters (8.4 feet) wide, and 3.44 meters (11.3 feet) tall, allowing it to be towed and relocated without special permits. Its exterior features a mix of metal panels and natural wood siding for a modern, stylish look.

Ecobox Home offers the EBH 659 in three levels of finish. The basic shell with utilities is $34,310. The mid-level version adds kitchen furniture with a sink, modular furniture, and a shower cabin for $43,795. The fully equipped turnkey model includes appliances, a complete bathroom, air-conditioning, built-in sound system, 28” smart TV, smart home functions, and ambient LED lighting for $57,560.
