At first glance, many restored classic SUVs can look similar. But behind each build lies an enormous amount of craftsmanship, engineering work, and carefully considered design decisions.

A perfect example comes from Kindred Motorworks and its reimagined Ford Bronco Heritage Edition. The vehicle is part of a growing lineup of custom Broncos the company has been producing over the past several years. Each project reportedly requires around 1,700 labor hours, beginning with a complete teardown of the donor vehicle before being rebuilt into a fully modernized off-roader.

The centerpiece of this Bronco is a third-generation 5.0-liter Coyote V8 producing 460 horsepower. Swapping a Coyote engine into a classic Bronco is nothing new, but Kindred’s execution stands out thanks to the seamless blend of vintage styling and modern technology.

The Bronco Heritage comes equipped with removable doors, a heavy-duty tubular roll cage, power-deployable running boards with integrated LED lighting, a removable hardtop, and full underbody skid protection. The featured build wears a bright Tangerine Orange finish, though buyers can choose from ten available exterior colors.

It rides on 18-inch forged wheels wrapped in 33-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, while upgraded 13-inch brake rotors improve stopping power. Buyers can also opt for the Trail Edition package, which adds a steel front bumper with an integrated Warn Zeon winch, plus a steel rear bumper with a tow hitch and swing-out spare tire carrier.

Underneath, the Bronco pairs the Coyote V8 with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an Atlas 2 transfer case. The SUV also receives a Dana 44 front axle, a Ford heavy-duty rear axle, and a stainless-steel dual exhaust system with catalytic converters.

Inside, the upgrades are just as extensive. The cabin features an electronic parking brake, heated front seats, a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless smartphone charging, a backup camera, and a premium audio system with a subwoofer.

Pricing for the Bronco Heritage starts at $169,000, including the donor vehicle. Kindred says it plans to build at least 20 more examples.

The company also confirmed it is nearing completion of an all-electric Bronco project. The EV conversion is expected to deliver between 200 and 220 miles of driving range, with a prototype scheduled to debut later this year.
