Jeep has issued a massive recall for the 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2023-2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L SUVs. The problem centers around a software error in the occupant restraint controller module that may cause the delayed deployment of the side air bags during a crash. This can lead to decreased protection during a collision.

To remedy the problem, Jeep dealers will update the occupant restraint controller module software, free of charge. For owners of affected SUVs, letters will be mailed by June 11, 2026. For now, customers can contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403.
