Jeep appears to have found a winning formula: revive a legendary nameplate, add retro styling cues, mix in bronze accents, and launch it as part of a milestone celebration. That's exactly what the automaker has done with the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo, the ninth special edition released under its Twelve 4 Twelve program.
The initiative celebrates Jeep's 85th anniversary by introducing 12 unique Wrangler editions over 12 months. It began in November 2025, and the stream of limited-production models continues.
The Laredo concept first appeared at the 2026 Easter Jeep Safari, where enthusiasts quickly suspected it was more than just a show vehicle. Those predictions proved correct when Jeep announced a production version available through dealerships.
The Laredo name has deep roots in Jeep history. CJ Laredo and Wrangler YJ Laredo models were sold between 1987 and 1995, becoming favorites among off-road enthusiasts who appreciated their straightforward capability and rugged personality. The trim takes its name from Laredo, Texas, a border city known for its Western heritage.
The original Laredo occupied the middle ground between entry-level models and premium trims. It offered proven mechanicals, genuine off-road ability, and distinctive styling without unnecessary luxury. Three decades later, Jeep has revived that formula with modern updates.
The 2027 Wrangler Laredo draws inspiration from the colors of the American Southwest. Earth-tone shades dominate the design, with tan, sand, and bronze accents creating a distinctive appearance. Jeep's signature seven-slot grille is outlined in Gobi, a warm sand-colored finish that ties the look together.

Retro-inspired graphics on the hood and body sides recall classic CJ and YJ models, while the tailgate features a vintage-style "4 Wheel Drive" decal designed to resemble a lasso.
The standout design feature is the tan soft top. Light-colored soft tops haven't been offered on the Wrangler in more than four years, making its return a highlight of the package. Buyers wanting a different setup can choose the Sky One-Touch Power Top on four-door models or a removable black hardtop on both body styles.
Unlike earlier Laredo models, the new version is available in both two-door and four-door configurations, giving buyers more flexibility.
The 2027 Wrangler Laredo is based on the Willys trim equipped with the Xtreme 35 Package, giving it serious trail capability straight from the factory. The suspension has been upgraded, increasing ground clearance by about 1 inch compared with a standard Wrangler.
Bronze-finished 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels are wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, improving both approach angles and off-road traction.
Power comes from Jeep's naturally aspirated 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, producing 289 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels through Jeep's four-wheel-drive system.
The two-door model weighs approximately 4,190 pounds, while the four-door version comes in around 4,520 pounds. Fuel capacity is about 18.5 gallons, providing an estimated driving range of roughly 280 to 310 miles under moderate driving conditions.
Inside, the Wrangler Laredo continues the Southwest-inspired theme with warm earth-tone colors throughout the cabin.
The front seats are upholstered in Bison Brown Nappa leather and include power adjustment and heated seat functions. Mayan Gold contrast stitching appears on the seats, steering wheel, and shift boot, while the dashboard, center console, and door panels are finished in Global Black.
Laredo badging appears throughout the interior, including a dedicated plaque on the center console. The tailgate features the engraved geographic coordinates of Laredo, Texas, while the climate-control knobs incorporate cowboy hat-inspired graphics that reinforce the special edition's Western theme.
Pricing for the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo starts at $53,240 for the two-door model and $55,620 for the four-door version. That's a $1,995 premium over a comparably equipped Wrangler Willys with the Xtreme 35 Package.
For buyers, the additional cost brings exclusive styling, a premium leather interior, and limited-production appeal.
