Hyundai is preparing to launch the next generation of its popular Elantra sedan, known as the Avante in the brand’s home market of South Korea. According to fresh reports, dealers are expected to begin offering the model in 2026.

Recently, prototypes of the eighth-generation Elantra/Avante were spotted on public roads in Seoul, confirming that previously leaked unofficial renderings were fairly accurate.

The rear of the Korean four-door sedan is expected to adopt a bold new design reminiscent of Tesla’s Cybertruck, featuring sharp angles and distinctive taillights with thin horizontal and vertical elements.

At the front, the Hyundai sedan will gain multi-level lighting with boomerang-shaped daytime running lights, as well as rectangular headlight units integrated into the bumper below.

Inside, the new model is expected to introduce a fresh layout based on Pleos Connect technology.

The multimedia display will grow significantly in size, while the digital instrument cluster will become more compact, showing only essential driving information.

According to Korean insiders, Hyundai plans to continue focusing on internal combustion engines and hybrids rather than fully electric powertrains.

For the new Elantra/Avante, the lineup will reportedly include a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, an LPG version for select markets, and hybrid systems — most of them likely carried over with minimal changes.
