In Huntington Beach, California, a helicopter crashed directly onto a beach parking lot, injuring five people.

According to reports, during a flight on October 11, the helicopter suddenly lost control and went down, becoming wedged between several palm trees near the coastline. The crash led to a temporary closure of a major Sacramento highway.

Huntington Beach Fire Department officials said two people inside the cockpit were rescued from the wreckage, while three bystanders suffered injuries. All five victims were taken to a local hospital, and their conditions are being assessed.

Authorities confirmed that the helicopter was connected to the Cars ’N Copters on the Coast event, which had been scheduled for October 12.
