Every car owner dreams of a trouble-free ride: comfortable, reliable, low-maintenance, and obedient—a car that’s sweet and dependable. Many people also believe in the magic of numbers and are willing to spend extra for special “lucky” license plate numbers.

Why? Motives vary, but usually it’s about bringing good luck on the road, standing out, matching the owner’s birthday, or just having a plate that’s easy to remember. It’s also tied to an old saying: “Whatever you name it, that’s how it will sail.”

Which plate numbers are considered lucky?

To figure out your car’s “number,” you add up all the digits on the license plate and reduce them to a single number.

Example 1: Plate 912 → 9 + 1 + 2 = 12 → 1 + 2 = 3. The car number is 3.

Example 2: Plate 3769 → 3 + 7 + 6 + 9 = 25 → 2 + 5 = 7. The car number is 7.

Car Number 1
This number stands for leadership. A “1” car rules the road: reliable, rarely breaks down, and can handle long trips (and it should look the part!). Owners tend to be successful, driven, strong, and authoritative. But if the car is old or neglected, a 1 may attract breakdowns, trouble, or even accidents. Watch out for swampy areas and don’t push the speed limits too hard.

Car Number 2
Your car and you are best friends. It’s comfortable, obedient, and gives the driver confidence and a sense of safety. Number 2 can even help prevent theft. This is a hardworking car—a “home on wheels”—that makes driving relaxing. Drivers of a 2 tend to be responsible, friendly, and independent. But don’t rush in bad weather, and always pay attention to road signs.

Car Number 3
Number 3 represents constant movement. With this car, you’ll always get where you need to go. It’s a helper on the road, often avoiding accidents and traffic stops. Life with a 3 can be unpredictable—flat tires or unexpected noises are part of the ride. Keep an eye on maintenance and speed, especially before long trips. This car suits drivers who aren’t worried about money.

Car Number 4
Number 4 gives a sense of safety. These cars are agile, a bit stubborn, and sometimes mischievous—but the driver can handle any road or tricky life situation. Minor fender-benders are possible, but they rarely result in major losses. A 4 is hard-working and doesn’t need frequent repairs. It’s not a money magnet, but ideal for creative personalities.

Car Number 5
You and your 5 car get along perfectly. It handles well in traffic, is nimble, sometimes unpredictable, and rarely gets into accidents. It can even surprise you—a car alarm going off at night or mysteriously rolling a bit—but 5 is all about speed and risk. Drivers need to obey traffic laws. Not a money magnet, but excellent for adventures and road trips.

Car Number 6
Cars with this number are durable, easy to handle, and hardworking. They have a gentle character and rarely get pulled over. Owners find things go smoothly when driving a 6. These cars need attention and care, especially before long trips. Great for families—but always watch for blind spots.

Car Number 7
Lucky number: problems stay away. A 7 car is balanced and can bring good fortune in life. It doesn’t attract unwanted attention on the road, and the driver feels comfortable and confident.

Car Number 8
Drivers of 8 cars are cautious, which is wise. These vehicles are reliable but have a “cold” personality—they don’t inspire warm feelings. Easy to resell, 8 cars are practical. However, numerologists say 8 attracts misfortune: traffic jams, accidents, red lights. If you believe in this, consider changing the plate.

Car Number 9
These cars have a spirited, impulsive nature. Number 9 suits larger vehicles like SUVs or trucks. People feel safe inside, but the car draws the attention of cops. Drivers must be careful on icy roads and prepare for regular expenses on parts and maintenance.
