No-Holds-Barred Dodge Pickup Tuning: This 1,550-Horsepower Ram 1500 TRX Accelerates Like a Supercar

Care to delve into the output and thrust? They are truly impressive!

Even though it is no longer a thing at the truck maker (it will be resurrected soon), the Ram 1500 TRX remains one of the most engaging vehicles in the workhorse class, and it doesn't need any modifications to throw a punch at much more expensive models.

However, countless examples have been visited by the tuning fairy, including the one you see above. We found it on @roadstarinternational's Instagram account, accompanied by a rather long (for a social media post) caption that reveals some of its strong points. And trust us, there is way more than meets the eye here, as besides the exterior makeover, this machine also packs a lot of power.

Care to delve into the output and thrust? They are truly impressive, as the quoted company states that this particular Ram 1500 TRX has no fewer than 1,550 horses running freely under the hood. The output translates to 1,156 kilowatts and 1,572 metric horsepower, and the torque remains undisclosed.

According to Road Show International, this machine lays down those horses like a champ, as the 0-62 mph (0 to 100 kph) acceleration is a 2.9-second affair. As for the top speed, you are looking at 145 miles an hour (233 kph).

How does it compare to the standard Ram 1500 TRX? With no outside intervention, the super truck is roughly one and a half seconds slower. It sprints to 62 mph (100 kph) in 4.6 seconds, and it will run out of breath at 118 miles per hour (190 kph).

To better put its 2.9-second ability to reach 62 mph into perspective, we will remind you that the Lamborghini Temerario, which is a full-blown supercar from the modern era, does it in 2.7 seconds, so it is truly impressive that this Ram 1500 TRX is this fast.

Do you know what else we would have loved to learn about this example? How fast it is down the quarter-mile. The standard one runs the standing 1/4-mile in just under 13 seconds, yet unfortunately, Road Show International hasn't revealed this time for the pictured Ram 1500 TRX.

Nevertheless, we can assume that it may complete it in approximately 11 seconds, and perhaps even as fast as 10 seconds on a perfect day and with someone who knows what they are doing behind the wheel.

A paint protection film was also installed, and this hyper truck is presented in white with several red touches and a few black elements. The front bumper appears to have been made of steel, and so does the rear one. The hood appears to soldier on, albeit with a few tweaks, and the cladding on the lower parts of the body, which would have normally been black, now has a white appearance.

The tinted windows contribute to the car's enhanced nature, and this vehicle also has extra lights at the front. The' F' center caps on the new wheels reveal that Forgiato was behind them. They have wide lips, a quite intricate design, a black finish, and measure 26 inches in diameter. The tires are also new, and even if they are quite slim, they should still provide enough traction for a mild drive across the wilderness.

On the inside, this tuned Ram 1500 TRX has black leather upholstery with a few red inserts for contrast. It is also home to Alcantara, as well as red stitching. The seatbacks are decorated with the 'TRX' emblem, and there is a special plaque on the center console. The flat-bottom steering wheel was partially wrapped in Alcantara, and this machine also has a panoramic roof and a black headliner.

The odometer revealed a little over 10,000 miles (16,000+ km) at the time of cataloging, and if you must know, this hyper truck recently changed hands for an undisclosed sum. How much do you think its new owner paid for it, given that this ride can keep up with new-age supercars up to a point, while also retaining its high-riding and hauling credentials?

While you think of a number, we will wrap this story up by reminding you that the Ram 1500 TRX is officially coming back to the super truck world. It will continue to be offered with a V8 engine under the hood, and there is no reason to believe that it is not the ubiquitous Hellcat motor, which is a 6.2-liter supercharged lump.

Stellantis' CEO, Antonio Filosa, was the one who made the announcement roughly half a year ago, stating that "the V8 engine on versions such as the Ram 1500 TRX will deliver us additional volumes." So, when will you be able to pick up a brand-new Ram 1500 TRX straight from the automaker? The answer remains unknown, yet it appears that most big outlets agree that it should launch as early as next year, likely hitting dealers as a 2027 model.
