Genesis GV60 Magma Arrives in the US With 641 HP and a Surprisingly Competitive Starting Price

Genesis has officially launched the GV60 Magma in the United States, introducing the first all-electric SUV from its new Magma high-performance lineup. With a starting MSRP of $69,950, the performance crossover enters the market at a lower price than many industry analysts expected, potentially giving Genesis a stronger foothold in the increasingly competitive premium EV segment.

Built on an upgraded version of Hyundai Motor Group's E-GMP platform, the GV60 Magma features an 800-volt electrical architecture and an 84-kWh battery pack. Power comes from a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing up to 641 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque in Boost mode. Genesis says the crossover can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds, putting it in the same performance league as several established luxury EV rivals.

For U.S. buyers, the GV60 Magma enters one of the fastest-growing segments in the market, competing with performance-focused electric crossovers that combine everyday practicality with supercar-level acceleration.

The performance model also receives an electronically controlled suspension, upgraded braking hardware, performance-oriented drive modes, simulated gear-shift functionality, and sport seats trimmed in suede. Visually, the GV60 Magma stands apart with larger front air intakes, a prominent rear spoiler, exclusive aerodynamic styling, and the signature Magma Orange exterior finish.

Genesis says the GV60 Magma represents the beginning of a broader expansion of its Magma performance sub-brand. Additional high-performance Genesis models are expected to follow as the automaker continues investing in electrification and performance technology.

Genesis has been steadily expanding its U.S. lineup in recent years, and the GV60 Magma is expected to strengthen the brand's appeal among enthusiasts looking for premium electric performance without entering six-figure pricing territory.
