This 1973 Chevrolet C10 Has Driven One Million Miles—and It’s Still on the Road
An American owner keeps driving his classic Chevy pickup after crossing the incredible one-million-mile milestone.
A 1973 Chevrolet C10 pickup with more than one million miles on the odometer is still being driven regularly by its American owner.
The truck belongs to Danny Hudson, who purchased the vehicle in 1976 from its original owner. Since then, the classic Chevy—powered by a 454-cubic-inch V8 (7.5-liter) engine—has served as his daily transportation for long work commutes.

At the time Hudson worked for General Motors, often traveling long distances as part of his job. Later, in 2008, he started his own auto parts business but continued relying on the same truck.

In 1999, Hudson briefly tried to retire the C10 and store it in the garage. The break didn’t last long. After a while he found himself back behind the wheel of the pickup.

According to the owner, the secret behind the truck’s extraordinary longevity is simple: consistent maintenance and careful upkeep.

Regular service, timely repairs, and attention to the mechanical condition have allowed the half-century-old pickup to keep rolling long after most vehicles would have been scrapped.
