Rare Yellow Jacket Dodge Demon Sells in Florida for $122,000, Far Above Original Sticker Price

A virtually untouched 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has changed hands in Florida for $122,000, significantly exceeding its original window sticker and underscoring the growing demand for rare, collector-grade muscle cars.

At first glance, the car’s exceptionally low mileage might seem like the main reason for the strong sale price. The odometer shows just 28 miles, leaving the vehicle in essentially factory-fresh condition. But collectors point to another factor that likely played an even bigger role: its rare Yellow Jacket paint finish.

Of the roughly 3,300 Challenger SRT Demons produced for the 2018 model year, only 132 left the factory wearing Yellow Jacket. Finding one with delivery-level mileage is increasingly uncommon, making examples like this especially attractive to enthusiasts and investors alike.

The car was offered by a dealership in Pompano Beach, Florida. When new, it carried an MSRP of $92,807. Its final sale price represents a premium of nearly $30,000 over that figure.

Beyond the rare exterior color, this particular Demon was ordered with more than $6,000 in factory options. Equipment includes the rear-seat and trunk-carpet package, the Comfort Audio Group, the Painted Black Satin Graphics Package, and the Demon Vehicle Storage Package.

The sale follows a broader trend in the collector market, where highly original, low-mileage Demons continue to attract strong bids. Earlier this year, another near-new example finished in TorRed reportedly sold for more than $106,000 despite having only six miles on the odometer.

Visually, the car stands out thanks to satin-black accents applied to the hood, roof, and decklid. Additional exterior features include a front splitter, satin-black rear spoiler, xenon headlights, widebody fender flares, LED taillights, and lightweight 18-inch Hole Shot wheels paired with red Brembo brake calipers and slotted rotors.

Like every Demon, this example was engineered with drag racing in mind. It features an adaptive suspension system along with dedicated Drag Mode and launch-control functions designed to maximize straight-line performance.

Inside, the cabin is equipped with heated and ventilated front bucket seats trimmed in Black Laguna leather. The Comfort Audio Group also adds an 18-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system, transforming what is primarily a drag-strip weapon into a surprisingly well-equipped grand tourer.

Other features include Alcantara trim inserts, dual-zone automatic climate control, aluminum pedals, a heated Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and the UConnect 4C infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility. A carbon-fiber dashboard plaque identifies the vehicle as Demon number 1,340.

Power comes from Dodge’s supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8, paired with a 2.7-liter twin-screw supercharger. On premium pump gas, the engine produces 808 horsepower and 717 lb-ft of torque. With 100-octane fuel and the race-calibrated ECU installed, output rises to an astonishing 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque.

An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power exclusively to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential, helping the Demon deliver the kind of quarter-mile performance that made it an instant legend among modern muscle cars.

Given its rarity, extensive option list, and near-perfect condition, this Yellow Jacket Demon appears destined for a climate-controlled collection rather than regular road use. For many collectors, preserving a car this original may be just as important as owning it.
